They are the first karaage (traditional Japanese fried chicken) restaurant in the entire UK and Europe! Karaage is often served as a side dish in Japanese/Asian restaurants across the UK. However, when served as a side dish it doesn’t get to shine. They felt it has so much potential and variety, that it could be the main focus of the menu.

Karaage (pronounced “ka-raa-geh”) is a traditional Japanese fried food, mainly chicken. It dates as far back as the 1920s, so much before fried chicken became popular in the US. The chicken is lightly marinated, then coated in a traditional chicken breading that forms a crispy layer when deep-fried, fresh to order. This keeps it moist on the inside and very flavourful.

Karaage is traditionally served with Japanese mayo – a very creamy and lightly savoury mayo with Japanese-inspired flavours – these pickled, sweet-ish, mildly spicy sauces we have developed for their Karaage No Sosu Ae – saucy karaage fried chicken.

They also serve Japanese specialities such as gyoza, chahan (traditional donburi – egg fried rice with a choice of chicken or tofu, served with miso soup and Japanese pickles), katsu curry, yakisoba, takoyaki (delicious octopus balls, crispy from outside and soft from the inside), tsukune (chicken meatballs), fried chicken bao, a selection of karaage and katsu burgers, furikake fries and rice, bubble tea, etc.
